Pete Cottrell reviews the rare and rather unique FENDER Sixty-Six
Let's stats with its name. This guitar is made from a Jazz Bass Solid Body, and the first one was released in 1960.
That's for the "Sixty" and 6 because... it's a 6 strings guitar and not a 4 strings bass.
Another very specific point is the use of a Humbucker as bridge pick-up, combined with 2 Tele single coils, and a "Modern C Shape" neck.
But the most important question remains, how does it sound ?
Well, watch the following video to have a clearer idea.
I can't personally wait to try it.
