MEGADETH has recently confirmed that Chris Adler (LAMB OF GOD) was not a member of the line-up anymore. He has been replaced by Dirk Verbeuren (SOILWORK).
In an interview conducted by MyRock, Dave Ellefson explained how he felt regarding all this:
""It can be challenging. Fortunately, the caliber of musicians that we have in MEGADETH — fortunately, that we've always had, quite honestly, but now especially in 2016 — it's at the highest level. I mean, Chris Adler is the highest caliber of the new school of heavy metal drumming, and then Dirk is kind of almost a half generation behind him, you know, coming up with new ideas — this whole grindcore thing that he does and his skill level.
So just like with Kiko Loureiro, there isn't a higher level of caliber of musician to have in the band than the guitar position, and it's the same with the drums. I think if anything, it's more of a feel. I know when I came back into the group in 2010, one of my first really kind of deciding factors was, 'What is it gonna be like to play 'Rust In Peace' with Shawn Drover?', having recorded it and played it with Nick Menza.
And as soon as I played with Shawn and it was very easy and he had a very comfortable feel, it made the whole experience just really enjoyable. And I think when Dirk came in on this tour, fast forward years later here now, he has a real energy and a sparkle about his… just a real pizzazz in his drumming that we felt immediately.
And it's ironic that it's from his left hand with the snare drum. He's got a snare drum sound like some of these iconic drummers, like Alex Van Halen or Kenny Aronoff, a couple of American drummers that had these iconic… you hear 'em on the radio and you know it's them playing. And Dirk has a real charisma to his playing that I think has really brought a whole new sound even to MEGADETH."

RIP NICK MENZA
Nick died on stage, saturday night, he was 51.
Dave Mustaine paid a tribute to him:
"I woke up this morning to a text message from my son, with the news of Nick Menza's passing. Shocked, devastated and saddened don't begin to describe my feelings.

"Originally a tech for the band, Nick soon displayed such talent and personality, it didn't take long for us to realize he belonged on stage with us, behind the kit. We asked Nick to join MEGADETH as our drummer in 1989. At the time, the band already had its first platinum album, which only served to stoke the fire. We all wanted world domination — with so much of our lives and dreams ahead of us. As we navigated through the pitfalls of life and the music business, our first album with Nick, 'Rust In Peace', and subsequent albums 'Countdown To Extinction' and 'Youthanasia', kept up the momentum. We parted ways after 'Cryptic Writings'. We, like all brothers, would disagree at times, but our bond was strong throughout.

"As a player, Nick had a very powerful jazzy flair, unpredictable and always entertaining, And as great a drummer as he was, the time spent with him as a person, a bandmate, and a friend was even more fun.

"There were several times we discussed him coming back to the band, but for various reasons, it never came together. We've been in touch all along, he had come out to our shows recently, and he had remained a great friend, a true professional and a larger-than-life personality.

"The MEGADETH family take care of each other, and expect to hear soon about an initiative to help Nick's children.

"All of us in this community are connected, take care of yourself and your loved ones.

"My deepest condolences go out to Nick's family.
